Of the more than 600 covered bridges known to have been built in Indiana, only 90 are still standing. Help us protect & preserve Indiana's historic covered bridges!

Indiana Covered Bridge Society, Inc., is a non-profit corporation organized in 1963 out of a need to arouse interest in the preservation of historic covered bridges.

One of the perks of membership to the Indiana Covered Bridge Society is receiving our quarterly newsletter. It's full of photos, information, and updates on our beautiful covered bridges.

Cedar Ford Covered Bridge is taking shape in Monroe County

The newest Indiana Covered Bridge, the Cedar Ford Covered Bridge, was moved to its abutments on March 22, 2019.  This bridge originated from Shelby County where it was placed into storage after being moved to the Shelby County Fairgrounds.  It was not stored properly and the timbers were damaged.  By the time the bridge was sold to an engineer and the timbers properly stored and cared for, the damage was already done.  Only 10% of the original timbers are usable in the new bridge.  They are hoping that the bridge is finished by May 2019.
